Areas of Interest: Ultrasonic Tissue Characterization, Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiography, Women and Heart Disease.
Dr. Sagar joined the group in June of 2003, currently working as the Director of Echo, Cardiac Rehab and Stress Lab at St. Lukes Medical Center.
She is manuscript reviewer of many medical journals including Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, Chest and Circulation, to name a few. She also sits on the editorial board of Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Video Journal of Echocardiography.
Co-principal investigator in NIH Women's Health Initiative, Dr. Sagar has published over 110 research papers and spoken nationally and internationally on echocardiography. She has also published over 60 original manuscripts.
Born in India, Dr. Kiran Sagar earned her medical degree from Medical College, Amritsar, India where she was awarded Gold Medal for Best Graduate of the Year. Dr. Sagar completed her Cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia. She has also been a Teaching Fellow in Medicine at the Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts.
For the past 20 years, she was a Professor of Cardiology and Radiology and the Director of Echocardiography at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She also served as the college's Director of Academic Development for the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.
She has earned many awards, including Paul Dudley White Fellowship Award from American Heart Association and Best Teaching Service Award from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Sagar has been listed in "The Best Doctors in Midwestern Region" and "The Best Doctors in America."
Her areas of research primarily focus on stress echocardiography and women and heart disease.
